4 Day Residency
A deeper dive for those with previous experience of the work. Immerse yourself in the beautiful energy of the space, a whole 4 days to focus on the details that speak to your questions and to share the power of voice work together in a small group.
1 May 2026 at 10:30 – 4 May 2026 at 16:00

This residency is aimed at those who have done the work before and would like to go deeper.
Part deep dive and part research, this 4 day immersive training* assumes previous knowledge of the resonators and the basic tenets of the work. It also meets participants with an invitation to be active in holding the link to your questions and stamina in the work, which requires focus on detail, self-generated imagination and an ability to meet more physically demanding aspects of the training.
This residency takes place at The Old Congregational Chapel, Northumberland; a beautiful space with light flooding in from stained glass windows onto the warm and natural wooden floor. The setting allows the group to lightly stay in process and conversation for the 4 days, whilst also meeting a landscape of history, hills, rivers and wild dark skies, that allows for rest, recuperation and integration. It also invites an aspect of the work which dialogues with nature and the natural world, listening to the notes present in the environment and learning to sing into or dialogue with this.
While the work will be led, Emma will also open out aspects of her own ongoing enquiry inviting participants into territories which are full of questions rather than a well trodden path - such as exploring and building on the Resonator process, through drawing and writing, to explore how this generates material and compositions, or songs which have not yet been tried and tested. There will be 5hrs led work and also 2hrs in the space for self-led or group-led practice.
Please note: food and accommodation are not included in the price.
There are a range of options for both eating and sleeping in Haydon Bridge (incl camping, AirBnBs/Hotels).
Travel: Closest Rail Station is Haydon Bridge (very close to the space).
Participants are encouraged to carshare and join up for group travel discounts where relevant.

* Attendance at all 4 days is required.
We might like to invite a photographer we know to make images and video footage that would be shared as marketing. They understand the work and are sensitive to the process. Please let us know if you would prefer not to be in the images. There is no recording during the workshop, but we will make time to collectively record the songs you learn at the end.
Please come in clothes that are loose-fitting and comfortable for more dynamic movement. The work happens in bare feet, but you may want socks and a jumper for more static moments. Please bring water and a pen and paper to note down the songs. Please let us know in advance if there is any condition or injury that we need to know of and which may require adaptations.
